After an extensive search process led by CCTV’s Board of Directors, we are excited to announce that Jasmine White has been selected as Executive Director, beginning September 1, 2020. Jasmine is a community media professional with 20 years of combined experience in management, multimedia production, educational program development, and classroom training, working with various schools and community organizations in the Washington DC area.
In public access, Jasmine worked for Montgomery Community Media and DCTV (The Public Access Corporation of DC), where she managed Production Services, Creative Services, DCTV’s Youth Training Institute, spearheaded both organization’s media education programs, and managed membership and outreach initiatives with individual members, nonprofits and organization partners.
As an independent producer, Jasmine has created content about food injustices, voting rights, and social justice-oriented programming. Jasmine formerly served on the Alliance for Community Media’s Board of Directors as the Equal Opportunity Chair, and later Vice Chair of the Equal Opportunity Caucus (now Inclusion, Equity and Engagement Caucus). In 2019, Jasmine rejoined the ACM Board as an At-Large member, and is serving as Parliamentarian and Chair of the Membership and Outreach Committee.
Jasmine has devoted her entire professional career to protecting and promoting community media and is eager to build upon the strong and steady leadership and history of Capital Community Television (CCTV). Jasmine is excited about expanding CCTV’s reach by delivering hyper-local news, and keeping community media accessible, and exciting for the various communities of the City of Salem and Marion County!
Jasmine earned her undergraduate degree in Communications from Ramapo College of New Jersey and holds a Master of Film and Video degree from American University, and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of the District of Columbia.
